PROJECT MANAGER – ENERGY/POWER PLANT PROJECTS  – UK

 

Our client is a company specialising in the supply of redundant (used) and new power plants. The majority of their business involves the deconstruction of redundant assets in Europe and relocation of the plants to developing areas of the globe.  They also undertake small scale EPC contracts

 

They are seeking to recruit a PROJECT MANAGER to join their small team.  This a new (permanent) role in the company, with scope to grow into the role of Project Director.

They have recently been awarded an EPC contract for the supply and erection of a steam turbine-generator, by a London based client.  They also have a number  of other projects, both ongoing and new and the Project Manager would be expected to take control of these projects, from the Managing Director, who will be concentrating on developing future business.

 

Candidates would ideally have the following skills and experience:-

 

Ø  Graduate level education in engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).

Ø  Strong knowledge of steam turbine-generators.

Ø  5+ years Project Management experience.

Ø  Knowledge and experience of executing projects under CDM (2015).

 

Our client is based in South East England, but it is not necessary for candidates to relocate as working from home is a possibility.  Frequent site visits will be necessary to manage the projects in UK and Overseas.

Job Description

Developing Strategy for the execution of CSU activities.

Develop look ahead schedule, align required resources and communicate with End-user/ Owner and EPC contractor. Resolve conflicts with respect to execution sequencing of the CSU activities.

Functional knowledge of pre-commissioning, turnover, commissioning, operations and maintenance technology.

Experience in project risk review and follow-up for mitigation planning and execution

Responsible for functionally developing, managing and delivering the means and methods of the commissioning execution strategy, schedule and cost.

Lead & direct all commissioning activity for a project including the lead staff position responsible for and directing all commissioning activities at the site.

Ensures best practices by developing and implementing turnover, pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation and maintenance processes and systems considering and including contractual requirements, project and construction schedule, reliability, maintenance, materials management and change management.

Promote company standards by ensuring accuracy of system results

Coordinate with Client/ End User and EPC contractor and align the human and machine resources

Recruit, train, inspire and manage commissioning staff.

Job Description

Review and approve PFD and P&ID, any issues with respect to design to be highlight and propose alternative solutions.

Conduct P&ID conformity on the field and highlight any deviations with respect to AFC drawings and develop the Mark – up Drawings.

Prepare Commissioning Procedures for approval and make sure the commissioning activities shall carry out according to procedures.

  • Candidates with OTS (Operator Training Simulator) training skills on Process units are highly preferred

Our clients are currently involved in several Power Plant Construction and Upgrade projects in Saudi Arabia & Gulf States.  They are seeking experienced and professional power engineers for projects such as CCGT, Thermal & ISCC Power Plants. 

We are seeking to recruit the following Engineering Disciplines for current and future positions:-

·         LEAD COMMISSIONING ENGINEER (HRSG)

Applicants should be qualified to degree level in their discipline and preferably have extensive experience on similar large Thermal Power/CCGT Projects and/or Oil, Gas, Petrochemical Projects. 

Our client is offering competitive local tax-free salary, annually renewable contract with long term duration employment opportunities on future projects, and will provide accommodation with recreational facilities, food, laundry, transport, medical insurance, leave cycles per annum with flights to/from point of origin, ie. UK, Europe, North America, Australia, NZ etc. Single status only.
